Thirteen Senses - Contact

With producer Danton Supple at the wheel it is always going to be hard not to make comparisons between Thirteen Senses and Coldplay – a marketing gamble choosing this producer or mere coincidence. There is a lack of uniqueness in their sound... Undoubtedly Thirteen Senses are talented musicians but the edge is diluted underneath the schmaltzy big production making Contact an album full of rich gestures but hard to connect with. Maybe they used too much of the Coldplay Kit.
Grade: B-
+ Follow Me (do you remember the Hammond organ used in "Fix You"?)
+ Spirals (nice bass line, and guitars a la The Edge)
+ MySpace website

Thanks for the 'heads up'. I marched up to the Yonge-Eglinton HMV 10 minutes ago to get this CD based on this review (I like Coldplay, so slay me), only to find no one working in the shop had heard of the band (I had to spell out the band name, I kid you not) and there was nothing in stock.
~sigh~
So thanks for the two tracks that I can listen to for now.
